about

This song like many came in the middle of the night, but unlike many, only took a few more days to complete. If anything, this song is about realizing that we don't need to rely on any one thing to inspire us.

lyrics

I thought you were my muse, now it's amusing just thinking those thoughts of you.
You are not the reason that I rhyme or play my guitar all the time no no.
Oh and though we've made so many songs of all the roads we've stumbled on it's true
I don't need you to do what I love to do
No I don't need you to do what I love to do

So leave me be
Walk your brown eyes out the door
Set me free
I do not need them anymore

You think you're not the girl I knew before but you're mistaken for ignoring the warning signs
You haven't changed at all in fact you're standing rather small and I am happy because
I still got these dreams inside of me that fill me with desire
And baby, I no longer need you to feed the fire
No, I no longer need you to feed the fire

So leave me be
Take your cryin' eyes out the door
Set me free
To be exactly as I was before
As I was before

So leave me be
Throw your feelings out the door
Now we're free
Slightly different than it was before I met you
My muse
My muse
And isn't it amusing that this songs about using you?
